At URTH Clay Studio, our kids and teen pottery classes in Adelaide are designed for young makers aged 7 to 18 who love to explore, create, and get their hands dirty. Whether they are naturally artistic or simply looking for a new experience, every child discovers their own way of working with clay.
Some children arrive quietly and carefully. Others arrive bursting with ideas. Clay welcomes them all.
As parents, we often keep our children's drawings, cards, and little handmade treasures because they capture a moment in time. Pottery is different. It lasts.
Years from now, that wonky mug, quirky sculpture, or hand-thrown bowl will still sit on a shelf, carrying the memory of who they were when they made it.
Throughout our pottery classes, children learn how to transform an idea into a finished piece. They experiment with hand-building, pottery wheel throwing, texture-making using natural materials collected from the beautiful park surrounding our studio, and glazing techniques that transform clay into food-safe and waterproof ceramics.
More importantly, they learn patience.
They learn that mistakes can become part of the design.
They learn that beautiful things take time.
And they discover the satisfaction that comes from creating something with their own hands.
All materials, clay, glazes, and firing are included.
Please bring an apron, a towel, and a willingness to get muddy.
