Girls only, Ages 12 to 18. Suitable for complete beginners. The course for teenage girls aged 12 to 18 focuses on designing and making their own clothes in a safe, mindful environment. It aims to reduce screen time and provide a creative outlet through sewing and design. The classes are designed to be fun and supportive, offering a space for girls to express themselves through art and design Introduction to Fashion Design: Teach basic principles and techniques of fashion design. Designing Your Garment: Help participants sketch and refine their designs, choose fabrics, and plan their creations. Pattern Making: Introduce pattern making and guide teens in creating patterns for their designs. Cutting and Sewing: Teach basic sewing skills and help students sew their garments together. Embellishments and Personalization: Explore ways to personalize garments with embellishments and unique touches. Upcycling Old Fabric: Show how to use old fabric, potentially from family members, in their designs. Final Touches and Fashion Show: Assist in finalizing garments and organizing a showcase for participants to display their creations. Please note: No sewing machines are used.  Throughout the program, you can incorporate discussions and activities related to body positivity, sustainability in fashion, and the history of fashion to enrich the learning experience.
